Then, months later i moved to an area without virgin cable and changed my isp to bt itself including a tv package and so was pleased to receive yet another identical box. I particularly like the remote access to the epg guide via the youview app which ironically is a quicker way to search for a programme and set it as a timer than using the laborious on-screen key-board that shows on your telly when using the box. I got this box as a warranty replacement for the older dtr-1000 which was also bt-badged, and, touch wood, it has so far worked for a lot longer than its predecessor. Love recording films and tv documentary on it. It arrived early and was easy to install. Update:after using the humax dtr t2100 for a month or so and still highly recommend it, they have made it smaller than earlier models by moving the psu to the plug that also has a much lower operating temperature. I highly recommend this item and it reflect good value for money. The youview recorder is well documented and i have quickly explored almost all its features. The unit is truly ‘plug and go’ and i was up and working within minutes of its arrival. The humax dtr t2100 arrived as quoted an well packaged. Nice and responsive unlike the previous youview box i had from a different operator. Some sellers at around £120 do not include one and it will cost you another £20 from bt. Good value, does everything you expect from a pvr.īe careful you get one with a remote. Otherwise there is nowtv from sky but no netflix, amazon, or other streaming services.īut best choice stepped in and sorted out problempeter christie.

App for kids programmes from channel 5 such as peppa pig, plus a dave player. There are the usual players such as iplayer and demand5 as well as the milkshake. Apps are the only place where the system is a little weak. This almost makes the guide and the various catchup apps redundant. Even better, simply pressing the search button and starting to type a programme name brings it up to stream if available. The youview guide is great – you can rapidly skip though the channels to pick what you want to watch and review the past week where clicking on the programme name plays it back via the appropriate catchup player such as iplayer or more4. The unit is small, discrete, and quiet with a well designed and quality-feeling remote, that can be programmed to also turn the tv on and off and control volume and av inputs. I was attracted to the youview platform for its reported ease of use, and in this device it delivers. We own two old humax pvrs which we have been very pleased with, but for streaming have relied on an apple tv which whilst excellent lacks easy access to iplayer and other catchup services. Very happy works fine does what it says on the box and good price off amazon.

Really pleased with my purchase, it’s a grade upgrade on the old one. This you view box was to replace an old one that’s been playing up for years.
I purchased mine from ebay and got it for half the price. The interface is great and once connected up to the ethernet cable the on demand feature is as good as any out there including sky. This one is compact, well built, super quiet and very user friendly. Very very simple and intuitive.Įxcellent product as advertised and delivered quickly.Ībsolutely brilliant, i have had a few freeview boxes in the past and this beats them hands down, i had previously owned the humax dtr1000 and that was a nightmare with so many technical issues. The box took minutes to set up – all that was needed was to plug it in, the rest of the process was automatic. It’s even cheaper if you buy direct from humax. Some online research showed the btyouview to be one of the better brands at a much more affordable price. This is to replace my existing stb as it blew in a storm ,all good very good service from seller thanks.
